THE BRIEF

Develop a new exterior for a product joining an existing range of WiFi controllers for split-system air conditioners. The device connects home heating and cooling controls to a smartphone.

THE DESIGN RESPONSE

Simple geometry is paired with a parametric pattern across the face. The casing accommodates concealed power and reset buttons, side-facing infrared, a top USB port and a rear wall-mounting point.

THE PHYSICAL DETAILS

A rubber surface on the back helps the device grip a flat surface. The battery compartment uses three screws. These practical details sit within a restrained exterior intended to fit into a domestic setting.
